Knee prosthesis

Total Knee Arthroplasty has possibly been one of the most important and successful achievements of orthopaedic surgery in the late XX century. Today, clinicians, scientist and technicians are challenged with quick rehabilitation and a better post-operative life for patients. SAMO accepted the challenge, pushing forward the limits of today’s technology in TKA with the Trekking Knee Integrated System.

Trekking Knee Integrated System

The Trekking system is one of the most comprehensive applications among the integrated systems in knee replacement, offering a wide and innovative range of solutions and a single and revolutionary instrument set that can be used for the entire range of mobile/fixed implants, allowing the surgeon to accurately treat any pathology, as well as the possibility to make intraoperative decisions in real time on how to intervene.
The Trekking system is also available in an uncemented version, as well as with an anallergic TINbN coating.

The Freedom Unicondylar system is a resurfacing, unicondylar, fixed knee implant with an all-poly tibial component. With around 40000 implants and an outstanding record in the Australian register, this device may be regarded as one of the most successful unicondylar knee implants available today.
The best and well-proven mobile bearing (MB) implant designing technologies were applied to the MB Trekking Triple Single Radius solution (sagittal condylar, sagittal trochlear, frontal condylar), to obtain the lowest possible wear of polyethylene, an earlier rehabilitation and the best functional results. The system is available in cemented, uncemented and TiN version (cem. and uncem.).
Some of the keywords and pluses for the Fixed Bearing (FB) implant are: an enhanced rotational capability (thanks to the Tracking Trail solution), high resistance against the backside wear, minimal impact on the bone stock.
Our solution for basic knee arthroplasty offers the highest possible congruence yet preserving the maximum mobility and kinematics. The ‘Single Radius per Single Condyle’ solution allows the maximum stability of the joint in any loading condition. The system is available in cemented, uncemented and TiN version (cem. and uncem.).
The system offers a controlled kinematic allowing a deep, early and smooth roll-back movement. The roll back movement results smooth and swift and can ensure a fast rehabilitation and an outstanding functionality. The system is available in cemented, uncemented and TiN version (cem. and uncem.).
Is a mobile, flexible solution that, thanks to the deep-dished liner, ensures a perfect stability both with the sacrifice or the conservation of the posterior cruciate ligament, ensuring good kinematic and stability in any case. Available in cemented, uncemented and TIN version (cem. and uncem.).
When the need is for greater articular stability, or more fixation to a compromised bone, the revolutionary TCK system is the perfect solution with minimized surgical invasiveness and no additional logistic or surgical complications. Also available in TIN version.
It’s a set of cutting edge, last generation revision implants fully integrated with the primary/stabilized-primary set. Thanks to the revolutionary instrumentation, it’s possible to switch smoothly from a primary to a revision procedure just adding two trays to the primary instrumentation. Also available in TIN version.
The Trekking Primary instrument set is a highly innovative tool that can bring real benefits to surgeons and patients; it’s compact, modular, faster, more accurate, safer. It is the first set to break the limit of 5 passages in the femoral phase, increasing at the same time precision and flexibility; thanks to the narrow 6-action femoral device and the chamfer-box all in one, passages are reduced to 3. The A/P position of the femoral component can be tuned fine and the risk of notching is zero. [Please see the Trekking Surgical Technique for further information] The high level of modularity of the instrumentation allows to minimize the amount of instruments to be introduced and managed in the Operating Room, stored and even bought.
“Two trays of instruments” is probably the most effective image to describe the innovation contained into the instrument set of the TCK revision system. In its revolutionary design, a single, compact, dynamic setup device replaces a whole set of trial components (femoral, tibial, liner, augments), a ligament balancer and a cutting jig. Therefore, this instrument allows for the parallel evaluation of ligament tension, articular line and resection level, with a massive gain in precision and time if compared with the sequential, traditional procedure, based on trial-and-error.
